Sand and Carbon Filter
Sand and carbon filters are used in water and wastewater treatment to remove contaminants and suspended solid particles (TSS). Contaminant removal from water or wastewater depends on the correct specification of the filter media used in the pressurized sand and carbon filters, targeting the desired, specific removal of each type of contaminant, since there are countless types of filter media on the market, each for its own application.

Technical details
To support the filter media of the pressurized sand and carbon filter, a false bottom fitted with nozzles is built inside the filter to retain the suspended particles. The nozzles are passage fittings whose main function is to ensure the filter material stays inside the sand and carbon filter, allowing only water to pass through their slots. The nozzles are specified according to each project's application, and Linsul Indústria e Soluções Ambientais Ltda uses nylon, polypropylene (disc), stainless steel and other types for greater safety in pressure filter projects.
To define the best filter media solution for the pressurized sand and carbon filter, the analysis of the water or wastewater is taken into account, together with the project's needs and current legislation. We offer a wide variety of filter media, highlighting sand, activated carbon, zeolites, ion exchange resins, cation exchange resins and many others.
The pressure filter backwash system can be manual or automated with on/off valves, with programming developed according to the type of water to be filtered and the filter media used in the pressure filter.
