Ultrafiltration System
Linsul ultrafiltration is a filtration process that uses semipermeable membranes. This technique uses pressure to force the liquid through a membrane with extremely small pores, retaining contaminants larger than the pore size.
The Linsul Ultrafiltration System is designed in-house to meet the needs and reach the required parameters of each industry. Its stainless steel structure and UF modules with polyethylene support offer superior mechanical and corrosion resistance, ensuring durability and reliability in water treatment.

How the Linsul Ultrafiltration System Works
Ultrafiltration is a physical separation process that uses hollow fiber membrane filters with a controlled porosity of 0.01 µm. With the transmembrane pressure differential calculated for each project, the water is forced through these membranes, which act as a selective barrier:
- They retain particles, macromolecules (high molecular weight) and suspended solids, and drastically reduce (99.99%) the microbiology of the water.
- They allow water, small organic molecules and ions to pass through.
This combination ensures operational stability, consistent filtered water quality and high energy efficiency, making it ideal for applications such as water treatment, industrial reuse and pretreatment for reverse osmosis.
Discover the advantages of the Ultrafiltration System.
We offer complete solutions for every stage of water treatment, developed to provide reliability, high performance and technical excellence in different applications.
Advantages
- High efficiency: precise removal of particles and microorganisms, final turbidity below 0.5 NTU and SDI < 3.
- Physical Process: No chemicals are needed (other than for cleaning);
- Low energy consumption: operation at low pressures, reducing energy costs.
- Full automation: automatic backwash, clean-in-place (CIP) chemical cleaning and HMI control.
- Modular, compact design: easier installation and space savings.
- Sustainability: reduces effluent discharge and allows safe water reuse.
- Minimal waste generation: no waste is generated during filtration, only during backwashing.
Applications
- Food and beverage, textile, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, chemical and metallurgical industries.
- Reuse of treated effluents
- Pretreatment for reverse osmosis
- Reduction of organic load and turbidity in critical processes
Design
The Linsul Ultrafiltration System has a pre-filter (sacrificial filter). As a result, the hydraulic flow is optimized to reduce fouling and maintain a high permeate rate. In addition, it has real-time turbidity and pH meters for the water, and inlet and outlet flow meters for protection against high pressure.
The process is fully automated, with routines for:
- Backwash to remove solids accumulated on the membrane surface.
- Clean-in-place (CIP) chemical cleaning to restore the original permeability and extend membrane life; the system has closed-loop chemical cleaning.
